My birthday party! Jan 07

My birthday was celebrated last month with the theme Little Red Hiding Hood! It was fun, attended by close friends and family. Thanks everyone for coming and made my party really special. Muah, muah!! The party was hosted by Paolo Bartorelli at his beautiful home in Menteng and the DJ for the night was my kid brother Maliki.

Alexandria and Cairo Jan 07

Finished off the Egypt trip to Cairo and beautiful Alexandria! My favorite places in those two cities are Egyptian Museum in Cairo and the Catacombs in Alex. Also in this posting are food we had in Egypt!

Aswan and Abu Simbel Jan 07

Arriving in Aswan, we woke up early to travel by road along the shores of Lake Nasser to Abu Simbel the great Temple of Ramses II, one of the most impressive ever built. For the rest of the day, it's lazy day in Aswan, checking out the shops in the vibrant Nubian bazaar and watching the locals.

The next morning, checked out the Nubian Museum and then in the afternoon visited the beautiful Temple of Isis at Philae, saved from the rising waters of the Nile, the Aswan High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk.

Luxor and 3 Day Nile River Cruise Jan 07

The First day of the year 2007, we woke up at 5 am so we can catch the first sunrise of the year from a hot air balloon! It was amazing!! After the baloon ride and landing in a patch of sugarcane fields, we then crossed the Nile where our donkeys were waiting to take us into the Valley of the Kings. We head off, just as the sun begins to rise in the eastern skies. Around midday we return to the east bank where we board our Nile riverboat and set sail towards Aswan. The rest of the afternoon we relaxed on the sundeck. During the next two days we sail upstream, watching the dark waters of the Nile glide past. We stop at Edfu, to explore the well-preserved Temple of Horus, considered one of the finest examples of temple building, and at Komombo we stopped at the Temple of Sobek, a Greco-Roman temple that overlooks the river. On one evening we enjoyed a Galabiya costume party, which was FUN! !!

New Year's Eve 2007 in Luxor

31 Dec : Luxor boasts the greatest quantity of ancient sites anywhere in the world, and there’s heaps to see and do while here. After checking our gear in to the hotel from the train station, we took a stroll around Luxor Temple, dominating the centre of town. After lunch at Kababgi Resto, we went on a horse-carriage ride (kalish) to Karnak Temple, dedicated to the great God Amon, and considered one of the greatest of Ancient Egyptian monuments. The New Year's Eve Party was fun, with belly dancers and other entertainment.

Cairo Dec 06

Tgl 28 Dec, berangkat menuju Cairo untuk plesir di Mesir selama kurang lebih dua minggu. Places I visited are Cairo, Luxor, Nile River Cruise, Aswan, Abu Simbel and Alexandria.
